Discussing the future of regional cooperation: Speakers announced!

Representatives from academia, cities and regions brought together at Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit

On Tuesday 16th November at 13:30 – 14:30 (EET, UTC+2) we will be tackling the topic of regional cooperation in the Arctic and Barents region.

With us in the panel we have Anni Koivisto, Vice President of the Sámi Parliament in Finland, Heidi Vironen, Research Fellow, University of Strathclyde, European Policies Research Centre, Lars Kullerud, the Director of UArctic, Piia Rantala-Korhonen, Director of Oulu European Capital of Culture 2026 and Mika Riipi, County Governor, Regional Council of Lapland.

This ensemble will star in the session titled: "The future of regional cooperation in the European Arctic Region: Perspectives from cities, regions and academia", which will as the name promises deliver a discussion that maps different perspectives for regional cooperation in the European Arctic Region, discuss expectations for the future and address the question of Arctic and Barents identity.
