Planning for this year’s Rovaniemi Arctic Spirit Conference is well under way and we have now shared the titles of the first sessions. Have a look at the program page of our website to know more:
This year the theme for the Conference is “Towards New Horizons”. We will start exploring these horizons on Monday 13th of November with pre-events and the Conference reception. The matinee on Monday is an excellent opportunity to screen short films and documentaries by young Arctic talents.
On Tuesday 14th of November the Conference will kick off in Culture house Korundi with sessions and keynote speeches. The changes in Arctic and Barents cooperation, due to Russia's invasion of Ukraine, are high on the agenda. During the day the topic of security will be explored from various points of view, ranging from hard security to community engagement. The last conference day in the Arktikum House will consist of parallel thematic sessions with a variety of topics. Sessions will touch on subjects such as climate tipping points and conflicts in land-use, and show both youth perspectives on climate intervention and indigenous perspectives on climate change, climate adaptation and mitigation.
For more information about the program please contact the Conference team. Heads up though! The Conference team will be on holiday in July as per Nordic custom.
