Frank Sejersen is an associate professor at University of Copenhagen and has an anthropological research focus on Arctic cross-cultural societal dynamics. In particular, he has been working with indigenous rights and political ecology. His current research project focuses on the relation between mining activities in Greenland, global economic dynamics and their importance in the negotiation of Greenlandic identities. The project addresses historical as well as contemporary mining projects and debates with an analytical attention on hope, future-making and place-making. The project is linked to the Nordic Centre of Excellence on Resource Extraction and Sustainable Arctic Communities.
