Marine and polar science specialist
Edwige Cavan is Specialist for marine and polar science at the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. Edwige is a young diplomat. She has a background in American Studies and she currently conducts doctoral research on the possibilities for development and protection of the Arctic region by considering the arguments for and against the implementation of an International Marine Protected Area seaward of the Arctic nations’ Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZs). Prior to joining the French MFA, Edwige was a trainee at the Delegation of the European Union to the United States. She is a Fulbright fellow.
